John R. Sauter

John Sauter is an Associate Attorney at Doll, Jansen & Ford in Dayton, Ohio. His practice is primarily focused on representing labor unions and their members in arbitration, negotiation, litigation and appellate advocacy.

John is a graduate of Capital University Law School. His prior work experience includes the union-side labor law firm of Cloppert, Latanick, Sauter & Washburn in Columbus, Ohio and Eufinger Law Office in Marysville, Ohio. During law school John was employed at the offices of the Ohio Attorney General and the Ohio Secretary of State.

John is a member of the AFL-CIO Union Lawyers Alliance. He is licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

John gives frequent presentations on a variety of legal topics, including labor and employment law, legal ethics, and Title IX compliance.

He served as an adjunct professor at Capital University Law School where he co-coached Capital's National Moot Court team which competes annually in the American Bar Association Appellate Advocacy Competition.

He was named to the Super Lawyers "Rising Star" list between 2017 and 2021.

John is a graduate of Miami University and currently resides in Troy, Ohio.
